The 136th meeting of American Ornithology will offer a great opportunity for sharing and discussing scientific research in all areas involving birds, including research focused on our meeting’s theme of Celebrating Connections: Birds Across Borders. We envision a broad discussion of research that spans the breadth of modern ornithology through symposia, workshops, and contributed papers and posters.
Volunteers will be able to enjoy a reduced registration cost to attend the conference based upon number of hours worked. We will do our best to schedule volunteers so that they can attend their sessions of interest. Opportunities include working the registration and information desks, helping with audio-visual operations in paper sessions, being a runner, coordinating logistics between session rooms, setting-up and closing-down, and other tasks.
This opportunity is available to student members 18 and older and requires a minimum 12-hour commitment. This is a great way to build your resume/CV.
If you’re are interested, please complete this short form. You will receive an email within 48-72 hours that includes a confirmation of your volunteer status and a discount code that you may use when registering for the meeting. Please do not register for the meeting prior to receiving your confirmation and volunteer discount code.
If you have specific question or need further details, send an email to the meeting organizers at AOS18AZ@gmail.com and write “Volunteer” in the subject line.
